A new Story

Sunita Christy Fernandes, loving daughter of Reginaldo and Catherine was born on 6th September 1968 in Goa, India. She was the eldest and caring sister to Nilima, Priya and Franco. She was the pillar of our family and a person full of life and joy. We all have wonderful memories of time spend with Sunita. She was our guide and helped us on the right way. Sunita will always be remembered for her compassion, generosity and love for life. She led her life for others, whoever it may be and cared immensely for everyone around her, like a child, pure and open at heart. Our memories include the days when we were young, laughing and playing together, and the times that you protected us like a mum. Sunita was very studious and helped us with our lessons. Her talents and skills included writing poems, drawing, painting, gardening, and teaching children. She will be fondly remembered by our children as ‘Ata’ for the love that she shared with them. Sunita/Ata we all miss you a lot- your smile, your concern, your presences among us. For the last three years you have taken good care of our mum. You were her strength and she lived more for you then for her own self. Whatever we do, wherever we go, you are forever amidst us. We are sorry for all the hurts knowingly or unknowingly caused and will always treasure your presence in our lives. So it is with much sadness that we say farewell today to our beloved Sunita. She was a wonderful and vibrant daughter, sister and sister in law who has been taken from us much too early. But the memory of Sunita will live with us forever and we are honoured to have been a part of her life. I would like to finish by sharing her last poem with you… Like a flower that gives good smell; So I hope to see you are well. As the clouds have dressed the sky, So I hope to see you dressed well. Never will I be shy to sing a song, So I hope to hear you sing along. Life is full of joy and sorrow, As we have to follow the lane which is narrow. Nobody to look after my pains, And I could not go but in the rain. Everybody walking by the streets As you can see life so busy. May you rest in peace dear Sunita.
